Objective
The objective of this consultancy is to design and implement a Data Catalog Strategy that enables efficient data discovery, governance, and usage across the organization. The consultant will identify and define relevant USE cases that support various LoB, ensuring that the data catalog meets organizational needs and complies with regulatory requirements.
3. Scope of Work
The Senior Consultant will be responsible for delivering the following tasks:
3.1. Assessment and Current State Analysis
· Assess the current state of data management, including data assets, metadata, and discovery
· processes.
· Identify gaps in the organization’s data cataloging, discovery, and governance practices.
· Conduct stakeholder interviews to understand departmental data needs and USE cases.
3.2. Strategy Development
· Develop a comprehensive Data Catalog Strategy tailored to the organization's needs.
· Define the goals and objectives of the strategy, focusing on data discoverability, governance,
· and metadata management.
· Establish a clear roadmap for implementation, including timelines and milestones.
3.3. USE Case Development
· Identify key USE cases for the data catalog based on organizational needs. These may include:
o Data discovery and access for analytics and reporting.
o Data governance and regulatory compliance.
o Data quality management.
o Enabling data democratization and self-service data access.
o Support for machine learning and AI projects.
· Collaborate with various LoB to ensure the USE cases address their specific requirements.
3.4. Data Governance and Metadata Standards
· Define metadata standards for capturing and managing data across systems.
· Develop governance policies for maintaining the accuracy and completeness of metadata.
· Establish processes for ongoing data catalog management and updates.
3.5. Technology and Tools Evaluation
· Evaluate and recommend appropriate tools and technologies for implementing the data catalog.
· Select a suitable data catalog platform based on factors such as scalability, integration with existing systems, and user-friendliness.
3.6. Implementation Planning
· Develop an implementation plan for rolling out the data catalog, including key milestones, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
· Ensure that the plan includes clear guidance on how the data catalog will be maintained and governed post-implementation.
3.7. Training and Change Management
· Create a change management plan to ensure organization-wide adoption of the data catalog.
· Provide training sessions and workshops to key stakeholders, enabling them to effectively use the data catalog for their data discovery and governance needs.
3.8. Documentation and Reporting
· Prepare detailed documentation, including the strategy, USE cases, metadata standards, and governance policies.
· Provide regular progress reports to the leadership team outlining accomplishments, challenges, and next steps.

The consultant will deliver the following:
1. Assessment Report: A detailed report on the current state of data management and cataloging within the organization.
2. Data Catalog Strategy: A comprehensive strategy document outlining the approach for implementing a data catalog, including goals, objectives, and key USE cases.USE Case Documentation: Detailed descriptions of relevant use cases for data cataloging and governance across various LoB.
4. Metadata Standards and Governance Policies: Guidelines and policies for managing metadata and ensuring data governance.
5. Technology Evaluation Report: Recommendations on the appropriate tools and technologies for implementing the data catalog.
6. Implementation Plan: A step-by-step plan for rolling out the data catalog, including timelines and resource requirements.
7. Training Materials: Documentation and resources for training sessions and workshops.
8. Final Report and presentation: A comprehensive summary of all work completed, including strategy, USE cases, recommendations, and next steps.
5. Consultant Qualifications
· Minimum 7 years of experience in data management, with a focus on data cataloging and metadata management.
· Proven track record in designing and implementing Data Catalog strategies in large organizations.
· Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management standards, and data discovery tools.
· Experience with Data Catalog platforms and integration with various data sources (e.g., databases, data lakes, cloud systems).
· Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
· Proficient in communicating in English language.
· Ability to provide training and lead organizational change efforts in data management.
