Job Title: Power BI Developer / Specialist
Location: Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Noida
Role Overview
We are seeking a Power BI Specialist with strong expertise in Power BI development and SQL database integration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all Power BI-related client tasks, supporting the team to achieve overall project goals, and delivering high-quality business intelligence solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement Power BI dashboards, reports, and KPI scorecards.
- Connect to various data sources, import and transform data for business intelligence purposes.
- Perform analysis, design, development, and implementation of Power BI solutions, including proof of concepts.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify risks and issues related to design, implementation, and delivery.
- Review and ensure quality of other developers’ work, adhering to best practices and architectural standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing dashboards and recommend performance improvements.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications and integration architecture.
- Support Power BI administration, including gateway setup, patching, upgrades, and migration.
- Implement automation frameworks for dashboard deployment pipelines using CI/CD best practices.
- Ensure compliance with non-functional requirements such as reliability, scalability, security, and data integrity.
Technical Skills Required
- Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, including advanced DAX calculations.
- Expertise in SQL queries and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, HANA).
- Ability to develop tabular and multidimensional models aligned with data warehouse standards.
- Experience connecting to diverse data sources such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Lake, ODBC.
- Knowledge of Power BI Gateway and Virtual Network Data Gateway setup and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automation for Power BI deployments.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of Azure platform and related services.
- Experience with third-party BI tools and ability to recommend solutions where applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant certifications in Power BI or other reporting tools preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
