Job Type: Contract
Work Mode: Onsite (Client)
What to expect:
Crafted Quality contributes to the perception of quality by a customer, based on Design layout, joint execution and assembly fit and finish throughout the car.
Crafted Quality is a sub-attribute of Perceived Quality.
PQ is part of the Body & Chassis Engineering organisation rather than Vehicle Engineering, however, as an attribute there are many links and a close working relationship with Vehicle Engineering. PQ is the level 1 attribute and includes both Crafted Quality and Material Quality level 2 attributes. We work to be the voice of the customer and to exceed their expectation of both Material and Crafted Quality.
Visualisation plays a huge part in successfully communicating potential quality risks throughout the design/engineering process.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
This role will support the delivery of Crafted Quality by:
· Building & maintaining Autodesk VRED models of all programs.
· Ensuring the VRED models represent the latest Engineering data at dedicated program gateways.
· Produce high quality photo realistic renderings to assist decision making.
· Communication of various crafted quality conditions across the vehicle using animation techniques.
· Assisting/running of virtual audits using the latest surface/engineering data in order to identify potential CQ concerns (Use of Virtual Reality where necessary).
· Manipulation of existing surface data as well as creation of new surfaces in order to demonstrate possible creative solutions to current crafted concerns.
· Develop visualisation for alternative engineering concepts as a part of engineering optimisation (attachment C’s).
· Create visualisation/surface data demonstrating PQ/CQ aspirations in the absence of surface data – grey zones specifically.
· Creation and maintenance of 3DX models for all relevant products so that they are readily available and can be consumed by all Crafted Quality Leader’s.
· Generate illustrations/visuals for PQ System Level guidelines and to support PQ standards creation.
· Creation of alternative proposals to existing engineering data to generate geometry suitable for additive manufacturing techniques.
· Training of Engineers in basic Catia/3DX tool sets for creation of modified and new geometry.
· Communicate final outcomes in a creative and high-quality manner.
