Purpose-
Information Architecture relies on models that represent business information as accurately as possible in order to support the effective governance of data and information in the business. The information modeller/architect will:
- · Lead and participate in meetings and interviews with business information experts.
- · Develop information models using definitions provided by business information experts.
- · Use information models to support data and digital product development, including data quality assessment rules.
This is not a solution development role, but it leverages the information modeller’s object-oriented experience to develop and maintain a robust, flexible, and accurate information model.
This is an incredibly exciting time for NGET and the architecture we are looking to build will help shape a fully self-service data environment that empowers data customers in a way which moves away from central control to truly realise the power of the data we hold.
- · Use and promote information modelling and architecture standards, practices and apply information and data govern practices.
- · Develops information model diagrams using:
- · UML class notation for static and integration data.
- · BPMN notation for processes.
- · ArchiMate notation for strategy and motivation views;
- · UML interaction notation for interfaces and integrations.
- · Proficient in developing models using Sparx Enterprise Architect
- · Collaborates with subject matter experts to validate and refine and agree models.
- · Implements the governance framework to enable governance activity to be conducted.
- · Supports the implementation of policy, standards and guidelines related to information and data legislation and compliance requirements.
- · Enables users to find information through appropriate use of metadata and search tools.
- · Organises knowledge assets and oversees the lifecycle of identifying, capturing, classifying, storing and maintaining assets.
- · Supports projects, functions or teams in the development of measurement methods, particularly for data quality assessment.
- · Applies agreed modelling techniques, standards, patterns and tools.
- · Contributes to the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas.
- · Implements stakeholder engagement/communications plans.
- · Able to develop the physical schema for a relational database from a subset of an information model (simple concepts, enumerations, compositions, generalisations, simple constraints, complex constraints, time series/historical data).
- · Able to develop interaction diagrams and message request/response payloads for GET, DELETE, POST, PUT, and PATCH http requests.
- · Works under general direction. Receives specific direction, accepts guidance and has work reviewed at agreed milestones.
