Objective of the assignment
The Product Manager & Solution Architect will provide strategic oversight and technical leadership for ORG's
enterprise applications portfolio. The role encompasses:
✓ Product Management: Strategic planning, roadmap development, and lifecycle management for
a diverse portfolio of enterprise applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and
stakeholder needs.
✓ Solution Architecture: Design and oversight of technical solutions for existing and new
applications, ensuring scalability, security, integration capabilities, and adherence to enterprise
architecture standards.
✓ Technical Leadership: Bridging business requirements with technical execution, collaborating
with stakeholders, development teams, vendors, and IT governance bodies to deliver robust,
future-proof software systems.
3. Tasks
The Product Manager & Solution Architect will perform the following principal duties:
a) Product Management & Strategy
• Manage the lifecycle of multiple enterprise applications within the portfolio
• Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with business strategy and stakeholder priorities
• Conduct regular stakeholder engagements to gather requirements, prioritize features, and
communicate product vision
• Assess and recommend application enhancements, replacements, or retirements
• Evaluate emerging technologies and their potential application within the portfolio
• Coordinate product releases and versioning across multiple applications
• Manage relationships with external vendors and software providers
• Define product KPIs and success metrics; monitor and report on product performance
b) Solution Architecture Design
• Design comprehensive solution architectures for new applications and major enhancements to
existing systems
• Create and maintain enterprise architecture standards and technical design patterns
• Map integration points across enterprise systems and define integration strategies
• Define data models, entity relationships, and data governance frameworks
• Establish security frameworks, compliance controls, and privacy considerations
• Create technical documentation, solution blueprints, and architecture decision records
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams
• Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with ORG's technical standards
c) System Implementation & Configuration
• Oversee technical implementation of new solutions and upgrades to existing applications
• Direct system configuration to meet business requirements
• Guide development of custom entities, forms, workflows, and business rules
• Supervise creation of custom dashboards, reports, and analytics capabilities
• Conduct solution validation and quality assurance activities
• Provide technical oversight to implementation partners and vendors
d) Systems Integration & Interoperability
• Orchestrate integration between enterprise applications and third-party systems
• Lead development and documentation of APIs and integration middleware
• Ensure adherence to integration standards and enterprise architecture principles
• Design and implement data exchange mechanisms and synchronization strategies

• Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize integration performance
e) Technical Governance & Standards
• Participate in IT governance activities and architecture review boards
• Ensure compliance with organizational technical standards and policies
• Define and enforce coding standards, development methodologies, and best practices
• Conduct technical risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
• Maintain technology stack documentation and technical debt register
f) Transition & Operations Support
• Develop transition-to-operations procedures for new and updated applications
• Create operational support documentation and knowledge transfer materials
• Establish monitoring, maintenance, and support procedures
• Coordinate with operations teams to ensure operational readiness
• Provide post-implementation support and continuous improvement guidance
g) Change Management & Enablement
• Develop user training materials and technical documentation
• Coordinate training sessions for different user groups and technical teams
• Support change management initiatives related to application implementations
• Foster user adoption through effective communication and support strategies
4. Deliverables
a. Product Manager (PM)
As a Product Manager the focus is on Business Value, User Needs, Prioritization, Stakeholder
Management, and Functional Definition.
Strategy & Portfolio Management
• Application Rationalization Report: A recommendation document for the existing enterprise
portfolio (Retire, Replace, Replatform, or Retain) based on business value.
• Business Case Documents: Formal justification documents for new initiatives and major
enhancements of existing approvals.
• Product Roadmap (Strategic & Tactical):
i. Strategic: A 3–5-year visual timeline showing high-level goals.
ii. Tactical: A 4-quarter rolling release plan with specific feature sets.
• Prioritization Matrix (e.g., RICE/MoSCoW): A scored list of features justifying why certain items
are in the backlog versus the roadmap.
Requirements & Design
• Product Requirement Documents (PRDs): High-level documents outlining the "What" and "Why"
of features.
• User Stories & Acceptance Criteria: Detailed breakdown of requirements (in Jira/DevOps) ready
for development.
• Functional Design Specifications: (Co-authored with SA) detailing how the system should behave
from a user perspective.
Implementation & Quality
• User Acceptance Test (UAT) Plan: Strategy document outlining how business users will validate
the solution.
• UAT Test Cases & Scripts: Specific steps for users to test features.
• Traceability Matrix: Ensuring every business requirement maps to a delivered feature and test
case.
Operations & Adoption
• End-User Training Guides: Manuals, video walkthroughs, or FAQs for the non-technical staff.
• Release Notes: Communications sent to stakeholders explaining new features and fixed bugs.

• KPI & Performance Dashboard: A Power BI /Tableau view showing adoption rates, and business
impact metrics.
b. Solution Architect (SA)
As a Solution Architect this focus is on Technical Feasibility, System Integrity, Security Compliance and
Implementation Standards. The following artifacts need to be produced in close collaboration with the
Architectural Solutions Group (ASG) and ORG stakeholders.
Architecture & Design
• High-Level Technical Solution Design (HLD/ADD): This blueprint outlines the system's
boundaries, illustrates high-level data flows, and detail integrations, deployment and network
views, as well as security architecture. ASG is committed to delivering this essential document.
The individual is expected to provide all necessary information, such as business requirements,
technical solutions, integration, security and deployment requirements, to ASG to facilitate the
production of this document.
• Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD): The definitive data model (conceptual, logical, and physical)
for the database.
• Technology Stack Definition: A specific list of approved technologies (languages, frameworks,
databases) compliant with ORG standards.
Integration & APIs
• Interface Control Document (ICD): A strict contract defining inputs, outputs, protocols, and error
handling for system integrations.
• API Specifications (Swagger/OpenAPI): Technical documentation for REST/SOAP endpoints.
Implementation & Governance
• Code Guidelines & Standards: A document defining naming conventions, branching strategies
and code review checklists.
• CI/CD Pipeline Configuration: The design of the automated build, test, and deployment workflow.
• Integration Test Plan: Strategy for testing data flow between systems.
Operational Readiness
• System Administration Guide: Instructions for IT staff on configuring and managing the application
backend.
• Runbooks (SOPs): "If this happens, do that" guides for incident response and troubleshooting.
• Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan: A technical procedure for restoring the system in case of failure,
including RPO/RTO targets.
• Architecture "As-Built" Documentation: Final documentation reflecting the actual implemented
system (updating the HLD/LLD based on reality).
Reporting
The Product Manager & Solution Architect will work under the supervision of the Solution Manager (ESD /
External Applications Team).
6. Profile
a. Education and Certification
Required
• University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a
related field; Advanced degree (Master's) preferred
• Significant experience in the required field could be considered in lieu of the IT-related degree

equivalent)
• Product Management certification (Certified Scrum Product Owner, Pragmatic Marketing, or
equivalent)

Experience
Required
• 10+ years of experience in IT solution delivery, with demonstrated progression of
responsibilities
• 5+ years of experience in product / solutions management or product ownership roles
• 5+ years of experience in solution architecture or technical architecture roles
• Proven experience in embedding security concepts in solutions delivery
• Strong background in conducting requirement gathering workshops and solution design
sessions. Background in creating test scripts and conducting user acceptance sessions and
reporting
• Experience in post-implementation support and continuous improvement initiatives;
• Extensive experience with system integration patterns and enterprise architecture frameworks
• Experience with multiple programming languages and technology stacks (Python, Java, .NET,
or equivalent)
• Track record of successful stakeholder management at executive levels
• Demonstrated ability to balance business needs with technical constraints
