Purpose of the Role:
The Fusion Business Architect is accountable for the integrity of the Business Design of the fusion programme covering requirements, process model, capability model, functional model, organisational model, and design decisions as the programme delivers functionality through various waves including the task management of business analysts activities within the fusion programme. This role will also be responsible for shaping, planning and gaining budgetary approval for changes to the fusion programme in line with strategic and business objectives. The Fusion Business Architect is also responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Operating Model for the business area of ownership and supporting the business to manage changes to it. The Fusion Business Architect manages senior relationships within the fusion programme, ensuring the demand into IT workstreams is shaped appropriately, enabling change to be solutioned and implemented in line with procedures, Enterprise Architecture expectations and industry best practice.
The Business Architect will:
•Have experience of the fusion product or other ERP products covering HCM, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement and payroll domains
•Ensure seamless design integration across multiple operating models being developed for different business functions and act as a central point of contact, ensuring consistency, alignment, and a cohesive user experience across all operating model designs for the fusion programme
•Manage business roadmaps and facilitate investment in people, process and technology change as required
•Leverage previous investment in people, process and technology when planning for the future
•Ensure investment is aligned with business strategy, meets the needs of our business customers, enables efficient and effective working practice and delivers value for money
•Facilitate experimentation and innovation activity where relevant
The Business Architect will be part of the wider business architecture team and also can be aligned to other strategic areas, process areas or domains and will be responsible for the day-to-day work delivery of business analysis within those area.
The Business Architect should be a proven influencer and communicator with stakeholders at all levels, with a strong background in Business Architecture, Portfolio Management, Business Analysis and Business Improvement, able to organise and lead a team to achieve organisational objectives and targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Architecture & Design Ownership
•Own and assure the end to end integrity of the Business Design for the Fusion programme, covering requirements, process, capability, functional, organisational models and associated design decisions.
•Run the federated business design forums to govern business design decision making within the fusion programme.
•Ensure business designs are coherent, traceable, and aligned across all delivery waves of the Fusion programme.
•Act as the single point of accountability for cross functional design alignment across HCM, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement and Payroll domains.
•Maintain clear linkages between business strategy, operating models, business capabilities and solution design.
•Ensure designs meet Enterprise Architecture standards, industry best practice and governance requirements.
Operating Model Management
•Maintain and evolve the target and transitional operating models for the business area of ownership.
•Ensure operating model changes are fully assessed for people, process, technology, data and controls impacts.
•Support the business to adopt, embed and manage change to operating models throughout the programme lifecycle.
•Ensure consistency and integration across multiple operating models being developed for different business functions within Fusion.
Programme Change & Demand Management
•Shape, plan and prioritise business demand into Fusion IT workstreams, ensuring clarity of scope, value, and outcomes.
•Lead the assessment and development of change proposals, including business cases, cost estimates and benefits.
•Gain budgetary approval for business changes in line with strategic objectives and investment governance.
•Ensure that change is solutioned and implemented effectively, balancing delivery pace, risk and value realisation.
•Management of strategic and tactical demand for change services and solutions across the business domains impacted by the fusion programme
•Collaborate with the portfolio management team on the intake process and prioritisation of demand across the company
•Collaborate with Delivery teams to enable the mobilisation of appropriate solution delivery frameworks as required e.g. Waterfall, Agile
•Create consensus between business functions as to the timing of solution introductions and withdrawals
•Be responsible for the business analysis activities associated with the definition and prioritisation of potential projects based on pre-defined criteria e.g. R.O.I, productivity, compliance and safety
Roadmap Management
•Own and manage business architecture roadmaps, aligning people, process and technology investments to business priorities.
•Maximise value by leveraging existing investments when planning future change.
•Ensure investment decisions provide value for money, improve efficiency and meet business customer needs.
•Facilitate experimentation and innovation where appropriate to improve outcomes and unlock further benefits.
•Collaborate with stakeholders to produce budgetary forecasts and gain budgetary approval for workstreams, projects, headcount and consultancy
•Collaborate with workstream leads to understand budgetary actuals throughout workstream and project lifecycles and assess impact on future demand and business value
•Collaborate with business change to understand performance and value of the portfolio
•Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to ensure that technology roadmaps clearly align to digital business roadmaps in terms of strategic alignment, business value, business priority, budgetary requirements and sequencing
•Collaborate with workstream leads to ensure clear workstream delivery plans are available to support business roadmaps
•Run and manage regular roadmap review and planning sessions with key business and IT stakeholders
Wider Business Architecture Team Interlock
• Provide strategic consultation in modelling business processes, functions and operating structures
• Participate in strategy development including environmental analysis, value cases and business innovation as required
• Manage and maintain the Business Architecture Knowledge Centre for assigned lines of business and ensure it aligns with overarching Enterprise Architecture Framework
• Seek ways to apply new technology to, and reuse existing technology for, business processes; work with Enterprise Architects to research and understand technical trends and competitors practices relevant to a requirement
• Assess near term needs, using structured interview processes, to establish business processes, to establish business priorities; consult with technical subject matter experts and develop technical solutions; advise on options, risks, costs vs. benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities
• Appropriately communicate key industry challenges and business requirements to enable development and delivery of "business aware" technology roadmaps
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture function to develop solution concepts and business cases for new IT investment
• Collaborate with architecture and operational teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards
• Facilitate development of cross line of business (enterprise) solutions that combine knowledge of business processes and issues, general technological options and process facilitation techniques
Business Analysis Delivery
• Lead and coordinate the day to day delivery of business analysis activities within the Fusion programme.
• Provide direction, coaching and quality assurance for Business Analysts working across assigned areas or domains.
• Ensure business analysis outputs are fit for purpose, consistent and traceable to design decisions and business outcomes.
• Contribute to the maturity and capability of the wider Business Analysis community at .
• Contribute to creation and maintenance of key documentation including, but not limited to, Business Outcome Statements, Cost Benefit Analysis, Project Proposals, High Level Requirements, Conceptual Design and Investment Papers
Team Management / Leadership
• Effectively manage the performance of the Business Analysts on projects aligned to allocated line of business
• Communicate company procedures and ensure they are followed as appropriate within the team
• Support the management of the workload and availability of the Business Analysis team (permanent and contract) throughout the project lifecycle (pre and post investment)
• Support and develop the skills of the Business Analysis and Architecture teams
• Observe and evaluate the analysis activity being provided by the team and develop capability where required
• Effectively manage coaching and knowledge share activity where required
• Effectively manage the Personal Development Review process for all team members
• Actively develop own knowledge and skills related to this Job Role and share development with wider team

Key Skills:
Education:
Degree in business, information systems or related discipline or equivalent and extensive work experience (M.B.A would be an advantage)
PRINCE 2 an advantage
ITIL an advantage
BA Diploma an advantage
Experience:
• Over 10 years proven experience working either within IT or in a business system related role
• A sound understanding of budgetary, procurement and legal procedures
• A sound understanding of Business Architecture methods procedures, standards and tools
• A sound understanding of Business Analysis methods, procedures, standards and tools
• A sound understanding of Portfolio and Project Management methods, procedures, standards and tools.
• Detailed knowledge of the software development and project lifecycle
• Experience of managing stakeholders at all levels both within a day to day and project environment
