TQUSI0713_5625 - Lead Engineer- Grid Field Operations

Job Type: Contract

Work Mode: Hybrid (2 Days from office)

Your contribution

You manage the request for discipline engineers and lead them in reviewing contractual documents from contractors, sharing responsibility for all technical aspects of a project.

  • You are directly involved in the project’s realization phase: from detail design through to commissioning, and you will frequently be present at project locations.
  • You maintain close contact with various stakeholders, such as regional grid operators and contractor engineers.
  • You are involved in the procurement phase and provide advice during the design and realization phases of the project.
  • You review technical specifications, work packages, drawings, and calculations for various contract types (e.g., Bestek, UAV, UAV-GC).

Profile:

  • You have a completed HBO (Bachelor) or WO (Master) degree in Electrical Engineering / Energy Technology.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in high-voltage technology (≥ 110kV) and experience with high-voltage substations (≥ 110kV).
  • You possess leadership or management qualities, are analytical, maintain a "helicopter view," and are a strong communicator. You are resilient when working under (time) pressure.
  • You have experience with project-based working (e.g., Prince2 or IPMA principles).
  • Relevant knowledge of and experience with various contract forms such as Bestek, UAV, and UAV-GC contracts, including System-Oriented Contract Management (SCB) and Systems Engineering in a requirements management package like Relatics.
  • The candidate must be fully proficient in the Dutch language.

Important:

  • The candidate will be deployed in the KVI team (Small Investment Projects). This involves short-cycle projects with a volume between €700,000 and €8 million. While projects are smaller, the volume is much higher; an average of 10 projects per week. The largest projects last a maximum of 2 months. Project examples include replacing PMUs (Phasor Measurement Units), line switches, line earthings, etc.
  • An experienced engineer is also an option; the candidate must have at least 3 years of relevant work experience. Leadership qualities/experience are not a must for this variant. Candidates with engineering experience starting from 10kV are also eligible.
  • The Lead Engineer joins a project team consisting of a lead engineer, site manager, and project coordinator. Compared to other teams, the KVI team is more "hands-on" (feet in the clay).
