We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Webmaster / Website Manager to oversee the performance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise-level websites and digital platforms. The role requires strong technical expertise, content management capabilities, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal website functionality, security, and user experience.
Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities):
• Manage, maintain, and monitor website performance, availability, and functionality.
• Oversee website updates, content publishing, and ensure content accuracy and consistency.
• Perform regular website audits to ensure usability, performance, SEO compliance, and accessibility standards.
• Monitor and improve website speed, responsiveness, and overall user experience.
• Implement and maintain website security measures, including regular updates, backups, and vulnerability checks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, content teams, and stakeholders to implement new features and enhancements.
• Manage CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, or equivalent) for content updates and site configuration.
• Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility of web applications.
• Track and analyse website performance metrics using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
• Implement SEO best practices to improve website visibility and ranking.
• Support website migrations, deployments, and version upgrades.
• Maintain documentation including website architecture, processes, and maintenance logs.
• Ensure compliance with data protection, accessibility, and web standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of website performance, design, and user engagement.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed [The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment]:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of proven experience as a Webmaster, Website Manager, or similar role managing enterprise-level websites.
• Strong experience in website management, maintenance, and performance optimisation.
• Hands-on experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and basic backend knowledge.
• Experience with website hosting environments, domain management, and server configurations.
• Proven expertise in website security, backups, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with SEO best practices and web analytics tools such as Google Analytics or similar.
• Understanding of web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and usability principles.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum and traditional delivery environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong documentation skills including website procedures and technical guidelines.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or above in the UK or equivalent.
Salary: GBP 52,300 to 64,000 per annum
