This opportunity is in the solution design and development arena for Cloud Architect who will play a major role with the technical design and development of the company’s technical offerings. The position is based at our Leicester office with occasional assignments at client locations. 

Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities): 

  • Organize challenging, multi-stakeholder advice and implementation services for cloud platforms. 
  • Lead in the design, organization, and implementation of cloud computing solutions. 
  • Develop a well-informed cloud approach and monitor the transition. 
  • Organize and lead business and technological projects with a focus on architecture (DevOps, Cloud). 
  • Effective, digital solutions for business opportunities and challenges will be designed. To successfully implement and run them, provide direction to the IT teams and business and technology stakeholders. 
  • Managing cloud resources: The cloud architect is responsible for managing cloud resources, including virtual machines, storage, and network resources. They optimize resource utilization to ensure cost-effectiveness and performance. 
  • Understand and help define the implications of the Cloud Strategy on application development, IT operations, Legal, Finance, procurement, security, compliance, privacy, identity management, data integration and mobility. 
  • Translating project-specific requirements into a cloud structure that meets those requirements, as well as taking into account the project’s resource use and scalability requirements. 
  • Documenting and defining best architectural practices, policies, governance and Standards for teams looking to adopt cloud computing. 
  • Integration checks (Ping testing, API, connection gateway checks for rules and Web service communication using data recording modules and provide reports and test evidence to the Integration Lead. 
  • Being responsible for creation of test cases, using own in-depth technical analysis for Planning and implementing the system (“point to point”) and (“end to end”) systems integrations between IT platform, core integration hub and cloud core business software integration over the cloud to cloud or cloud on-premises and apply integration techniques such as apply File data, object, API, MQ non real time integration methods. 
  • Producing test scripts, materials and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services. 
  • Mapping and defining the integration test cases/ test flow of information using crafted data between systems and also support SIT automation initiatives with other team members. 
  • Developing with integration leads to the suite of systems integration buds, (stubs) and test scripts for the One global SAP network infrastructure, and reusable scenarios and scripts e.g., for Non-Functional Test. 
  • Develop, design Test cases, and run integration from and to the satellite communications systems and their integration to SAP SuccessFactors and finance Billing system. 

 

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed [The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment] 

  • Working experience in Azure/AWS Cloud platforms. 
  • Experience of using Agile methodologies and DevOps to deliver enterprise-level digital solutions. 
  • Experience in technical skills, at architect level, with true depth in multiple areas, preferably with modern technologies. E.g., cloud-native (AWS preferred), microservices, enterprise level integration, incl. API-s, process digitization, modern data architecture, software architecture, and engineering. 
  • Knowledge of mainline programming and scripting languages such as Shell, Python, Ruby, Perl, Java, .Net, or C++. 
  • Experience in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. 
  • Containers on Azure cloud including Kubernetes and Docker 
  • Competent in the use of Ansible/Jira/GitHub/Confluence in support of agile Devops deployments 
  • Continuous Integration and Deployment tools such as GitHub, Azure Dev Ops, GitLab. 
  • Understanding of networking and security concepts such as VPNs, firewalls, and encryption. 
  • Infrastructure as code experience with one, Azure, GCP and other cloud technologies.

Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree or above in the UK or Equivalent. 

Salary:GBP 35000 to 50000 per annum
